I am a practical creative, an agent of change, an eternal optimist. My passion for life and a curiosity for all things great and small have led me through a colourful life so far, from scientific pursuits to running music festivals, from building businesses to pursuing rock climbing adventures across australasia.
After a life of science and international development work in my twenties, where I was driven by a fascination of the ‘interconnectivity’ between people and our natural environment, and a hunger to discover solutions for restoring its balance and harmony, I moved into more commercial pursuits. Tapping into my enterprising and creative energy, I sought to widen my impact and conceive a greener future in my own biotech business, which developed a new technology on the frontiers of science. Juggling this, while keeping a commercial focus on the business, was a fascinating interplay (and tension!) between creativity (innovation) and sound management. The strong sense of vision and purpose we carried forged a highly motivated team. It was here that I learnt the necessity to have access to all of your inner resources, to build emotional intelligence and to continually learn and develop. Coaching enabled me to stay ‘connected’ (to my emotions, to what is important, but also to others), to maintain an agile and confident mode of thinking when faced with complex and challenging situations, and build my ability to make decisions through multiple perspectives.
I have always had a strong belief in the creative power of the human mind and the potential within each and every one of us. I also believe in the deep connection found in the conversations we have in coaching, and I thrive off the places this can take us, very real conversations about meaning and purpose. I have trained as a professional coach with the Coactive Training Institute, an organisation that has given birth to a generation of fantastic coaches that contribute collectively to a better world. So I bring a wide range of knowledge to the coaching relationship, as well as a playful, creative and energetic approach. This is combined with a depth of care, commitment and urgency, as we only live once, and what we do with it matters!
